Seaskills Largs offer a number of First Aid and VHF courses that will teach you all the skills required to cope with medical emergencies and how to operate VHF radios. These are required skills for Yachtmaster candidates.
RYA First Aid Course – 1 day
What is cold water shock? How would you treat hypothermia?
The answers to these questions and many more can all be found by attending this 1 day course.
This course is ideal for those that require a 1st aid certificate for use in a maritime environment. It is recommended for RYA instructors, Yachtmaster and Advanced powerboat candidates.
It is equally important for those that would like the peace of mind of having some formal first aid training when afloat.
RYA SRC VHF GMDSS Radio Course – 1 day
This course involves training and assessment on all aspects of using a VHF radio including GMDSS operations. It covers the use of distress alerts and individuals DSC calls.
It is a crucial part of becoming a Yachtmaster and is also a pre-requisite for the Advanced powerboat certificate.
